Demand Action

Demand action in the first 100 days of the new presidency.

New President. New Congress. New Action.

With the inauguration of the new Congress, finalization of the Georgia senate runoff races, and the events of 2021, it is clear that the United States is at a moment desperate for decision makers to take an active stand against the injustices this nation faces – as they relate to the climate crisis, racial inequity, and the COVID-19 pandemic.

And I know you will join us in these efforts. As mentioned in the town hall with former US Vice President Al Gore , we are making our voices heard and demanding bold and swift federal action this year. And we’re starting today.

Join us in calling on President-elect Biden and Congress to make the first 100 days of this new administration a historic 100 days of climate action. Action to stop global warming, put millions to work in good green jobs, and rebuild our nation with a just, green recovery.

Take action HERE .

Hi Climate Leaders, I wrote an opinion article in the Colorado Sun that describes why hydrogen-powered vehicles must be part of Colorado's plan to get to zero emissions. You can read it on the Colorado Sun webpage or at this link .

This blog isn't just for me. One of our goals in creating this website was to democratize participation and enable collective action in bringing about local solutions to the climate challenge. One person's words or efforts does not bring about collective action. Do you have a story to tell? Do you wish to highlight a cause that is meaningful to you? Is there an event you want to raise awareness of? This is a place where you can do any or all of those things. How do you get your content posted on this blog? It's easy. Email us . Your message should include the following information: Background information. Share the context with us about the story/event/cause/person/place/thing you want to highlight Suggested language. Give us a draft of what you would like to post. We pledge to do our best to post your content in your voice, but we reserve the right to exercise editorial judgement about the content we post to our platform Multimedia . A picture is worth 1000 words. If you have images, videos or links to other places on the internet, help us help you get the word out to your fellow Climate Reality Leaders Send your submissions to comms@climaterealitydenver.org

Last year brought a number of challenges, and we know we’re far from the finish line, but through this network of dedicated Climate Reality Leaders, we know that 2021 will be a year of growth and activism. As we kick off 2021, we’re looking forward to more face time and opportunities for discussion with Climate Reality Leaders like you, even as we grow our ranks. In April of 2020, we started the Climate Reality Book Club in an effort to convene Climate Reality Leaders from around the world around books focused on the environmental movement – and to connect with you! Together, we read five books (pictured above) highlighting some key areas of the climate crisis from both fictional and factual lenses. We were joined by multiple authors, many of whom are Climate Reality Leaders themselves, and have had stimulating, emotional, and eye-opening discussions in the Reality Hub group . We’re thrilled to be kicking off the new year with Waste: One Woman's Fight Against America's Dirty Secret by Board Member and 2020 MacArthur Genius Grant Recipient Catherine Flowers, who will be joining us for the meeting on February 15 at 2 PM ET. You can register here , but we also encourage you to start discussing the book and check out the full 2021 book list in the Reality Hub Book Club group ! We have a phenomenal line up of books for 2021, and I hope you’ll join us and start reading! We look forward to reading with you this year! -- Climate Reality Book Club Team © 2020 Climate Reality Project

We're live! This website has been a long time coming. Thanks for stopping by. I am really excited at the possibilities presented by having this platform to organize our efforts and coordination our activities to make a difference in the fight for a livable climate. It's my hope that instead of relying on lists of active members and email-based communication, this site will serve as a platform that enables anyone to get and share the latest updates and information about what you can do and contribute to climate solutions in Denver, and more generally, Colorado. This website is intended to evolve and grow with our community . We have implemented minimum viable functionality with this launch, but we have a few ideas for new features and functionality to implement in the short to intermediate term. If you have suggestions can help make this site better, expand our audience or improve our engagement and climate advocacy, contact the comms team at comms@climaterealitydenver.org This is the place where you have a voice and a stake in your community's fight for a livable climate and the solutions we implement in the service of that cause . We want to foster a community on this website and our social media accounts that promotes the collective action needed to bring about durable and robust solutions to climate challenges in our homes and communities. This is the place where you can share your story, raise awareness of initiatives that are important and meaningful to you and join and support fellow climate leaders in their activities. I would be remiss if I didn't mention Katy Wellington , without whose efforts this website would not exist. Words don't adequately describe how fortunate we are to have had Katy volunteer her time and in-demand skills to crafting this website exactly when we needed someone with her expertise. The site looks great and I am excited to see how we as a community leverage her creation to address the climate crisis here in Colorado. Thank you for your leadership Katy! We want to hear from you . If there is an upcoming event that Climate Reality Leaders should know about and participate in, please let us know at comms@climaterealitydenver.org Thanks for reading and for your willingness to join the fight for a livable climate.
