Youth & Direct Action

The Direct Action Committee exists to encourage and help chapter members take direct action to combat the climate crisis. Along with coming up with different initiatives and providing resources that can help our members reduce their carbon footprint, the Direct Action Committee is always available to meet with chapter members who want to take action but don’t know where to start. We recognize that not everyone can dive into the deep end immediately, and therefore, this committee has activities suitable for all levels of engagement. "Think globally, act locally" is our motto for 2021 as we focus on changes in our state and communities.

2021 Goals

1. Clean up one ton of trash from the city's streets
2. Encourage and help 10+ chapter members (or acquaintances) to start composting
3. Verde Volunteerism at 3+ locations in the Denver Metro area.
4. Provide a monthly zero-waste tip to the membership

"The reality we face implores us to act."
